2014 Mazda6 is Popular Mechanics’ 2013 Car of the Year

Fuel economy, responsive slick handling and an upscale appearance has been rewarded in the 2014 Mazda6 sedan with Popular Mechanics’ 2013 Car of the Year!

At Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda Orlando, auto shoppers have found the perfect car they are looking for in the Mazda6 due to the fact it is one of the best equipped vehicles in its class while remaining affordable.

Popular Mechanics took every test drive over 2013 and narrowed it down to the top 10 cars of each segment. To help select a winner, the editors took the most important qualities to Popular Mechanics’ readers to make a final decision. They found that the 2014 Mazda6 met the affordability, utility, fuel efficiency, performance, innovation and design that their readers would appreciate.

Features like the i-ELOOP regenerative braking system, SKYACTIV-G 2.5 liter gas engine, the SKYACTIV-MT manual and SKYACTIV-AT automatic transmission, and the striking beauty of the KODO “Soul of Motion” design language make the 2014 Mazda6 a clear choice for auto enthusiasts.

Spotted: Is this the new 2015 Mazda3?

Hot on the tail of the Xbox Live vehicle unveiling stream event announcement, it looks like the suspicions of what could be announced may be the 2015 Mazda3!
At Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda, a new Mazda dealer in Orlando, Florida, auto shoppers have begun to voice their interest in the next generation of Mazda3’s. The picture above looks similar to the images of the new Mazda3 featured in a Japanese publication last month and resembles the 2014 Mazda6 with the sleek Soul Red paint job and curvature at the front. This is one good looking hatchback!

We are speculating that the unveiling next week will be the brand new 2015 Mazda3 which we are anticipating to appear on showroom floors in early January 2014. For more information about the current 2013 Mazda3 or other Mazda’s, visit SportMazdaOrlando.com, home of the Mazda Experts!

2013 Mazda Miata is the world’s fastest…

The 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata is the world’s fastest convertible… when it comes to covering up from the rain! The Mazda Experts at Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda, a new Mazda dealership in Orlando, Florida, has seen the rise in interest after the improvements to the power retractable hardtop were made to the 2013 Miata. Mazda’s latest video pits a stock MX-5 against heavyweight convertibles such as the Chevrolet Corvette, Lamborghini Gallardo, Porsche 911, and a few high priced top contenders in a ¼ mile drag race. The race kicks off with a blast from a high powered water hose simulating a rain storm to see how long it takes each convertible to raise and lock their power retractable roof and cross the finish line.

The 2013 MX-5 Miata had the power retractable hard top up in just 12 seconds which beat out the second place Porsche 911 Carrera by 5.1 seconds. If you were looking for another reason to consider getting Mazda’s iconic roadster convertible, fast responsive rain protection has earned a spot on the list. For more information regarding the 2013 MX-5 Miata, visit our convenient information Miata vehicle research page on our website at SportMazdaOrlando.com.

2.5 liters make all the difference in the 2014 Mazda CX-5

When Mazda released the 2013 CX-5 last year, it rocked the industry with it's incredible chassis, stylish design and impressive fuel economy which redefined the crossovers. At Don Mealey's Sport Mazda, a new Mazda dealership in Orlando, Florida, it became one of the most popular cars for auto shoppers to test drive. In January, Mazda updated the popular crossover by making a few alterations including the upgrade from a 2-liter SKYACTIV gasoline engine to a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV engine.

Recently, Car and Driver had the opportunity to test out the 2.5 liter 2014 CX-5 AWD and compare their results with last year's 2.0 liter 2013 CX-5. Performance-wise, the extra half liter boosted the CX-5's horsepower by 35 resulting in a 1.6 second difference over the 2.0 liter engine's 0-to-60 time clocking in a 7.6 seconds. Car and Driver described the 2.5 liter 2014 CX-5 as “a bit of an instigator, cutting and running in traffic situations,” while the 2.0 liter “would best wait for a wider opening.”

For more information regarding the 2014 CX-5, read the Mazda Experts convenient CX-5 research page or visit SportMazdaOrlando.com and ask the Mazda Experts. If you're in the Central Florida area, schedule a test drive of the CX-5 with the Mazda Experts and experience for yourself what makes this a must-drive crossover.

RUMOR: Next up for a SkyActiv makeover, the 2015 MX-5 Miata!

Earlier this year, Mazda and Alfa Romero forged a new partnership which will be bringing a newly designed Mazda MX-5 Miata starting in 2015. At Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda, a new Mazda dealership in Orlando, Florida, our customers have shared with us the relief that the SkyActiv technologies in the 2013 Mazda3 and 2014 CX-5 and Mazda6 bring by offering great fuel economy and unparalleled safety features. Rumors have it that by the model cycle for 2015, the MX-5 Miata will be joining the other SkyActiv vehicles by coming equipped with a 1.3 liter turbocharged diesel SkyActiv engine!

Just a concept? or reality? We'll know soon enough!
It’s also rumored that the new SkyActiv diesel engine that will be added to the 2015 MX-5 Miata will be a modified 1.6 liter SkyActiv engine with an output of approximately 130 horsepower. If this is true, then it would officially make it the lowest horsepower a Miata has had since 1996. However, Mazda is looking at new design and manufacturing techniques that would drop the overall weight getting it down to about 1,760 pounds. While no official word is out by Mazda on the next generation of Miata’s, we’ll know more as time goes by. For more information about new Mazda’s and the current 2013 MX-5 Miata, visit SportMazdaOrlando.com. Mazda MX-5 Miata: A road-tripping kind of roadster

The Mazda MX-5 Miata can largely be considered the world’s most popular roadster that has a legacy spanning over 30 years. The Mazda Experts at Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda, a new Mazda dealership in Orlando, Florida, love to see it when auto shoppers get that smile on their face that only a sporty roadster can deliver. Yahoo! Autos recently took the 2013 Mazda MX-5 Miata on a road-trip to the famous Natchez Trace Parkway that cuts through Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee for a test drive unlike any other.
Anyone that drives a Miata can tell you how easily you can grow attached to it after taking it for a cruise on twisty winding roads. According to Yahoo! Auto’s test driver, “you ditch the descriptive “it," and start using “she” or “her." It becomes less mechanical and more emotional.” If you are in the market for a sporty new car, the 2013 MX-5 Miata can spice up your driveway and make the neighbors jealous. For more information about the 2013 MX-5 Miata, check out our convenient research page on our website at SportMazdaOrlando.com. Schedule a test drive today with the Mazda Experts and they will contact you as soon as possible!

Does 2.5 liters make a difference with the 2014 Mazda CX-5?

Continuing the momentum that the 2013 debut of the CX-5 brought to Mazda’s line up, the 2014 keeps delivering an automotive experience that has drivers wondering what Mazda will think of next. As a new Mazda dealership in Central Florida, Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda understands what auto shoppers are looking for in a crossover and are proud to meet these expectations with the 2014 Mazda CX-5. Last year’s model carried over a 2.0 liter engine capable of delivering 155 horsepower across all available trims. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the 2013 CX-5 a Top Safety Pick thanks to the safety conscious efforts of Mazda’s engineers. The 2014 continues to improve upon safety by introducing a new Smart City Brake Support system allowing drivers on dense urban roads to avoid low speed collisions by applying the brakes if the driver does not. Mazda wins the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost To Own Award

Chalk up another win for Mazda as they have been named Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost To Own Award winner for a non-luxury brand. As a new Mazda dealership, Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda in Orlando, Florida commonly hears from customers that sticker price is always a concern when purchasing a new vehicle, but long-term costs in fuel, maintenance and insurance greatly determine whether a car is really affordable. Kelley Blue Book examined the full line up of 2013 vehicles released over the past year across all brands and has officially recognized Mazda as the greatest in long-term vehicle value. Thanks to a low depreciating value, fuel costs, and costs for maintenance and repairs, KBB recognized that models such as the 2013 Mazda3 and CX-5 greatly increased Mazda’s rank to the top of the list compared to last year.

Not only did Mazda win for overall brand, but the 2013 Mazda5 won for the lowest 5-year cost in the minivan/van category. Mazda’s commitment to making affordable, efficient and fun to drive vehicles paints a picture of the future ahead full of more awards to solidify the Mazda brand a must-own.
