First ever Green Car Technology award goes to Mazda’s Skyactiv

At this year’s Washington Auto Show in DC, Green Car Journal introduced a new award in recognizing green technologies in the automotive industry. Mazda has been coursing its own path of progress with the Skyactiv technology system being implemented into vehicles at new Mazda dealerships like Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda in Orlando, Florida. The award was presented to Mazda was in recognition of the benefits the Skyactiv system brings to fuel economy and reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions. In the past year, Mazda has launched two vehicles designed from the ground up around Skyactiv with the brand new 2014 Mazda6 and the newly updated 2014 CX-5.
