Slated for a September 2013 launch, the all-new 2014 Mazda 3
revolutionizes 10 years of innovation for the Japanese automaker’s best-selling
brand. The Mazda Experts at Don Mealey’s Sport Mazda, a new Mazda dealership in
Orlando, Florida, has been receiving inquiries about the new 3 ever since
leaked images of the latest vehicle to receive the full suite of SKYACTIV technologies
began to emerge.
Sporting the appearance of the KODO design language set by
Mazda a few years ago and implemented in the design of the 2014 Mazda6 and 2014CX-5, the new 3 will be a few inches longer and a couple of hundred pounds
lighter than its predecessor. The details of the gas mileage have not been
officially released, but estimates place the hatchback version at approximately
46 mpg in the 2.0 liter SKYACTIV gasoline engine which would make it the leader
in gas mileage in the compact class.
The new infotainment console features a larger screen compared to the Mazda6 and will run on a brand new operating system that is optimized for use with the commander navigation control. Drivers will be able to have their Facebook feeds, emails and web searched directions read to them and allow voice operated responses to be made. Another neat new feature will be the heads-up-display (Active Driving Display) that pops out of the dashboard in front of the driver and displays vehicle speed, driving directions and vital driving stats.
